摘要: Abstract This paper presents the use of a recent developed algorithm inspired by hunting mechanism antlions in nature, called ant lion optimizer (ALO) for solving optimal reactive power dispatch (ORPD) problem considering large-scale system. The ORPD is formulated as complex combinatorial optimization with nonlinear characteristic. ALO from antlions. One most interesting things that they have unique behaviour and exhibit high capability escaping local optima stagnation. used to find set control variables problem, such generators terminal voltage, position tap changers transformers, number switchable capacitor banks. performance feasibility proposed are demonstrated through several simulation cases on IEEE 30-bus, 118-bus systems system 300-bus Comparison obtained results those reported literature shows clearly superiority over other recently published algorithms regards real losses computational time, hence confirmation efficiency providing near-optimal solution.
