摘要: Demand for anticoagulation management is increasing due to an expansion of clinical indications therapy. One possible model care meet demand patient self-management (PSM), beneficial patients who need control over their condition. This study aimed determine the cost and cost-effectiveness PSM compared with routine clinic-based receiving long-term anticoagulation. A cost-utility analysis was conducted alongside a randomised controlled trial; 617 were recruited followed up 12 months. There no significant difference in mean quality-adjusted life years (QALYs) between groups - after adjusting baseline, QALYs 0.009 (95% CI, -0.012 0.030). Overall healthcare costs arm significantly higher at pounds sterling 417 (CI 394- 442) 122 103- 144) arm. Therefore, using formal analysis, does not appear be cost-effective. However, may have other benefits relieving pressure on traditional care, this some subgroups needs explored further.
