摘要: Background: The design of the handle on instruments for endoscopic surgery determines comfort and efficiency use by surgeon. This applies particularly to needle drivers. Methods: A novel rocker was designed provide holding intuitive function. compared with a finger-loop in study involving 10 surgeons who tied total 360 intracorporeal surgeons' knots random sequence. end points this were execution time, knot quality, motion analysis parameters surgeon's elbow shoulder joints. Results: Intracorporeal rocker-handle driver exhibited better although not significant (p= 0.097). improvement quality score (KQS) observed between first second sessions 0.045) handle, whereas no learning effect handle. During tying, angular velocity at joints consistently lower suggesting that more controlled movements are enacted surgeon Discomfort from pressure thumb reported 3 discomfort Conclusions: new improves task performance eliminating reducing velocities during use.
