Observations on an otter population in decline

摘要: The distribution of otter signs on the catchment River Teme, United Kingdom, over a ten years period indicated that range species, already limited at start study in 1977, declined further subsequent years. Otters became restricted to upper reaches catchment. Evidence is presented contamination with organochlorines (which can be extracted from spraints) may have been responsible for decline. Reasons possible increase during final are discussed.
