摘要: THE PROBLEM of determining bending moments in rotor blades is a fundamental one the design rotating wing aircraft. Several methods for solving problem have been proposed, both empirical and theoretical. In general, theoretical so involved that most blade designers had to take recourse or semiempirical methods. Recently, Owen has shown that, several cases which he obtained more less precise solutions differential equation bending, Cierva's formula gave excellent agreement with ' "exact" moment. Owen's method not, however, adaptable practical case varying section. This made it extremely worth while determine assumptions limitations inherent formula, order may be used confidence its range applicability. I t will purpose this paper review equations govern bending; indicate possible solution, together simplifying necessary each; discuss analytical basis various approximate methods, particularly formula. Finally, an extension hinged Stuart-Myklestad tabular propeller stress analysis' 10 made, some notes on numerical calculation. The question aerodynamic loading not discussed here, since treated considerable detail number other papers.
