摘要: The development of miniature turbomachinery has made possible the extension operating range turbo-Brayton cryocoolers down to applications requiring as little 1–5 watts refrigeration at 4.2 70 K. This paper reviews status this technology and describes two presently under Creare: a 5 watt, K cooler for space sensors, 0.6 1/hour helium liquefier Magnetic Resonance Imaging systems. Cycle configuration trades are discussed bounds on cycle cooling temperatures capacities presented. design performance prototypical hardware is described.
