摘要: The equations governing the deceleration and oscillation of a blunt body moving along planar trajectory are re-expressed in form Euler-Cauchy equation. An analytic solution this equation describes amplitude growth frequency dilation with time for statically stable decelerating constant pitch damping. histories several damping values, predicted by compared to POST six degree-of-freedom (6-DoF) simulations. simulations use simplified aerodynamic coefficients matching approximations. Agreement between model predictions simulation results excellent. curves also fit through nonlinear 6-DoF ballistic range data identify static stability coefficients. os shown closely points capture behavior observed experiment. extracted reasonable agreement higher fidelity, parameter identification results. Finally, nondimensional version is presented be simple effective tool designing dynamically scaled experiments capsule flight.
