摘要: Out of 138 clearly defined gunshot suicides which were autopsied, 11 persons (8%) fired two or more gunshots to the body. From these 11, 5 cases involved 2 head where bullets first had missed brain. The trajectories restricted chest in three and a combination including perforating heart wounds without immediate incapacitation occurred cases. Reliable is based on physiological effects (tissue disruption) can only be achieved by decreasing functioning capability CNS. This accomplished direct disruption brain tissue indirectly cerebral hypoxemia from massive bleeding. Targets are certain CNS areas targets rapid include heart, (thoracic) aorta pulmonary artery. Other major blood vessels organs (lungs, kidneys, liver, spleen) constitute delayed incapacitation. general classification derived literature illustrated presented. A thorough post mortem exclude quantify potential for physical activity. Typical features single such as contact shots, classical entrance wound sites soot/backspatter hand also occur multiple suicides.
