摘要: Abstract We have generalized the Maugis model of adhesive contact spheres (Maugis D.,J. Colloid Interface Sci.150, 243, 1992) to arbitrary interactions in two different ways. On one hand, if we choose an arbitraryinteraction potentialbetween surfaces, obtain exact formulation problem, which unfortunately requires computationally demanding numerical solutions. other prescribe thestress distributionoutside zone, can build numerically efficient approximations completely describe problem for a given monotonic attractive interaction with reasonable accuracy. These approximate models retain simplicity and may therefore prove useful data analysis. Our results show that nature has very moderate influence on solution, so be used most physically acceptable potentials, except when large accuracy is required.
