摘要: Abstract OBJECTIVE: To determine the prevalence and nature of feeding difficulties oral motor dysfunction among a representative sample 49 children with cerebral palsy (12 to 72 months age). STUDY DESIGN: A population survey was undertaken by means combination interview home observational measures. RESULTS: Sucking (57%) swallowing (38%) problems in first 12 life were common, 80% had been fed nonorally on at least one occasion. More than 90% clinically significant dysfunction. One three (36.2%) severely impaired therefore high risk chronic undernourishment. There substantial discrepancy between lengthy duration mealtimes reported mothers those actually observed (mean, 19 minutes 21 seconds; range, 5 seconds 41 39 seconds). In 60% children, severe preceded diagnosis palsy. CONCLUSIONS: Using standardized assessment function, we found majority have Contrary maternal report, relatively brief, this, combined severity dysfunction, made it difficult for some achieve satisfactory nutritional intake. The study illustrates importance observing feeding, preferably home. (J Pediatr 1996;129:877-82)
