Hydrogen production via steam reforming of bio-oil components over calcium aluminate supported nickel and noble metal catalysts

摘要: Abstract Steam reforming of two representative bio-oil components, acetic acid and acetone, was investigated thermally catalytically over nickel (5 wt%) noble metal (0.5 wt% Rh or Ir) catalysts supported on calcium aluminates (CaO·2Al2O3 12CaO·7Al2O3). The thermal reactions (with without water) were studied in the presence inert quartz particles showed that at 750 °C, acetone to a lesser extent undergo series homogeneous forming CO, CO2, CH4 H2 concentrations which depend organic, absence water. Characteristic steam is high amounts are produced. prepared tested three reaction temperatures 550–650–750 °C using steam/carbon = 3 space velocities around 30 000 h−1. results easily reformed hydrogen rich gas with yield approaching equilibrium. Hydrogen yields type loading ratio CaO Al2O3 support. best performance terms highest achieved 5 wt% Ni/CaO·2Al2O3 catalyst, while 0.5 wt% Rh/CaO·2Al2O3 catalyst presents resistant coking. These showing also very activity, low coking deposition rate slight superiority yield.
