摘要: Background Radiofrequency ablation of the renal arteries (RF-ABL) has been shown to decrease blood pressure (BP) in drug-resistant hypertensive patients who receive antihypertensive drug therapy. However, there remain questions regarding how RF-ABL influences BP independent therapy and whether complete denervation is necessary maximally lower BP. To study these questions, we examined cardiovascular, sympathetic, effects produced by proximal spontaneously rats (SHR) with established hypertension. Methods SHR were instrumented (telemetry) for measurement systolic/diastolic (SBP/DBP). Rats then underwent Sham-ABL or adjacent ostium was recorded 8 weeks. Changes sympathetic activity, 24-hour water/sodium excretion, levels urinary angiotensinogen (AGT), plasma renin kidney content (KRC) measured SHR. Results Compared Sham-ABL, a sustained At weeks, SBP/DBP 171±6/115±3 183±4/129±3mm Hg SHR, respectively. Correlating reduction BP, significantly decreased low frequency/total frequency/high frequency variability attenuated hypotensive response chlorisondamine. Kidney norepinephrine markedly at weeks vs. There no group differences sodium/water excretion AGT rate (6 weeks) activity KRC (8 weeks). Conclusions bilateral decease without changes systemic/renal renin-angiotensin system.
