摘要: A flocculating protein from the seeds of Moringa oleifera Lam. was isolated by extraction with phosphate buffer followed cation exchange chromatography. The molecular mass determined SDS-PAGE about 6.5 kDa, isoelectric point above pH 10. Amino acid analysis and sequencing showed high contents glutamine, arginine proline, a total 60 residues. amino terminus is blocked pyroglutamate. flocculant capacity, in glass powder suspension, comparable to that cationic polymer on polyacrylamide basis. Flocculation activity may be explained patch charge mechanism due low weight density.
