摘要: Water of southerly origin replaced polar water very rapidly on the coast NW Europe and an interstadial marine circulation with a weak North Atlantic Drift was fully established off both west Scotland southern Scandinavia by roughly 12 800BP. A ‘warm’ interval detected in strata western Scottish at beginning Windermere (Bolling plus Allerod) Interstadial lasted from this date to perhaps 400 BP another towards its close about 11 250 shortly after 000 BP. During Younger Dryas Stadial returned 10 850 present until 200–10 100 The changes end seem have taken place within limits radiocarbon dating, few decades. Warming Holocene Interglacial may two phases, during first which, possibly 9600 BP, temperatures been lower than present, more especially east Sweden. Full interglacial not 9500 depth Faeroe–Shetland Channel major factor controlling sea air temperature northwards and, implication, earlier interglacials interstadials.
