摘要: This study aimed to examine the association of lifetime abstention sexual intercourse with Axis I and II psychiatric disorders, attempted suicide, past-year disorder, medical condition, obesity, health-related quality life, health service use in middle-aged older adults United States. Face-to-face interviews were conducted 2004–2005 Wave 2 National Epidemiologic Survey on Alcohol Related Conditions. Analyses performed for subsample aged 40 years (males = 14,427; female 19,860). Lifetime abstinence from intercourse, sociodemographic variables, prevalence DSM-IV schizophrenia, 14 conditions, obtained. The was 0.90 % (0.88 males; 1.00 females). adjusted risks any substance-use alcohol-use alcohol-abuse nicotine dependence, drug-use drug-abuse disorder significantly lower who abstained than those did not. However, more likely have a diagnosis obesity avoidant dependent personality disorders. unadjusted risk dysthymic also greater intercourse. Results indicate that effect absence disorders is mixed.
