摘要: Epidemiology is now well recognized as the foundation of public health. The Da Qing study in 1986 was first milestone to show that lifestyle intervention can prevent or delay onset diabetes. lead investigator study, Professor Xiaoren Pan, regarded forerunner epidemiologist for diabetes China and even Asia. In 2006, participants were followed up assess long-term effects interventions after 20 years. As compared with control group, those combined group had a 51% lower incidence during active period 43% over 20-year period, adjusted by age. Recently, National Diabetes Prevalence Survey carried out from 2007 2008. data showed prevalence Chinese adults 9.7%, increased rate exceeded International Federation estimation. Very recently, we have reported acarbose viable choice initial therapy patients newly diagnosed type 2 who body mass index exaggerated postprandial glucose excursion Caucasian patients.
