摘要: The Vrancea subcrustal seismic source is characterized by large magnitude ( $$M_{W} \ge 7$$ ) intermediate-depth earthquakes that occur two or three times during a century on average. In this study several procedures are used to grade four candidate ground motion prediction equations proposed for in the SHARE project. work of Delavaud et al. (J Seismol 16(3):451–473, 2012) models developed subduction zones (Zhao Bull Seism Soc Am 96(3):898–913, 2006; Atkinson and Boore 93(4):1703–1729, 2003; Youngs Res Lett 68(1):58–73, 1997; Lin Lee 98(1):220–240, 2008) suggested as suitable source. paper presents appropriateness analysis done using dataset 109 triaxial accelerograms recorded seven events with moment $$M_{W}$$ between 5.4 7.4, occurred past 35 years. strong motions were Romania, well Bulgaria, Republic Moldova Serbia. Based goodness-of-fit measures order quantify how selected match data. compatibility respect scaling distance implied investigated well. analyses show et al. (Seism 1997) Zhao (Bull 2006) have better fit data can be Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessment.
