摘要: Little is known about the relation of modifiable dietary factors to circulating homocysteine concentrations, particularly in young adults and non-Western populations. We investigated hypothesis that intakes nutrients foods are associated with serum concentration a group Japanese women. This cross-sectional study included 1050 female dietetic students aged 18 22 years. Dietary intake was assessed using validated, self-administered, comprehensive diet history questionnaire. Fasting blood samples were collected, concentrations measured. Adjustment made for survey year, region, municipality level, current smoking, alcohol drinking, supplement use, physical activity, body mass index, energy intake, other or foods. After adjustment nondietary confounding factors, all B vitamins (folate, vitamin B-6, B-12, riboflavin) inversely concentration. However, only B-6 remained significant after further vitamins. Marine-origin n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid showed an inverse association, but this not independent For foods, pulses, fish shellfish, vegetables independently concentration, these associations disappeared Conversely, association dairy products positive green oolong tea even To conclude, women, higher lower
