Diversity of Bornean viverrids and other small carnivores in Deramakot Forest Reserve, Sabah, Malaysia

摘要: We used camera-trapping and night spotlight surveys to investigate carnivores in a lowland tropical rainforest Borneo. Here we report records of 14 small carnivore species from Deramakot, commercial forest reserve, where reduced impact selective logging system is practised. Some the recorded like Otter Civet Cynogale bennettii or Hairy-nosed Lutra sumatrana have rarely never been with camera-traps The observed very high diversity carnivores, especially globally threatened wetland species, highlights importance this complex suggests that even commercially forests may harbour carnivores.
