摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter provides an overview of new cognitive psychophysics. The psychophysical judgments loudness reflect nothing but some measure excitation in the auditory system. Sensory psychophysics deals large with (again, principle) equally well-defined correspondences between external stimuli and resulting perceptual representations. By linking sensory meanings to their stimulus objects, provides, Fodor's (1981) terms, a kind semantic theory perception—a limited one be sure, minitheory—of sort that perhaps is needed more broadly if psychology not only interpret behavior terms internal manipulations abstract symbols relate those hypothetical symbols-being-hypothetically-manipulated less referents.
