摘要: The contribution of nitrogen (N) fertilizer placement to management annual weeds in spring wheat grown under two tillage systems was examined at sites located three ecoregions the northern Great Plains from 1994 1996. effect different placements on narrowleaf and broadleaf weed emergence, growth, N uptake were determined a no-till conventional system. Fertilizer broadcast, subsurface-banded prior seeding, or side-banded time seeding. Tillage system generally did not influence crop response placement. Broadcast-applied more effective than banded promoting wild oat emergence growth over growing season. Weed densities, biomass, measured early season averaged 20 40% less, grain yield maturity 12% higher where compared broadcast. In contrast, addition fertilizer, regardless placement, detrimental green foxtail because enhanced competitiveness. Banding recommended rates can be an cultural practice for managing wheat-cropping semiarid subhumid regions Plains, but it is reliable when used as sole method management.
