摘要: SUMMARY. The accumulation of cadmium from an experimental medium by the freshwater amphipod Gammarus pulex is described. Much uptake internal as opposed to adsorption on body surface, and after apparent saturation exoskeleton hepatopancreas becomes increasingly important site storage. haemolymph concentration reaches a high level compared with marine crustaceans, achieving factor (ratio Cd/ external Cd) 100 about 60 h uptake. The process severely inhibited exposure animals 0.5 mM 2:4 Dinitrophenol, indicating mediation active process. This fact together negative relationship between rate calcium animal suggests that this species may be at least partially accounted for ‘accidental’ uptake, substituting regulatory mechanism. As yet it has not been possible establish true stoichiometric two metals. Although influx (influx) rates are similar over wide range concentrations, clearly low ratio calcium. indicates metals far equimolar one possibility non-competitive inhibition cannot eliminated.
