摘要: Abstract. Experimental findings have shown that travelling planetary waves modulate the occurrence of mid-latitude sporadic-E-layers. Using a simple quantitative model, we analyse effects linear interaction between tides and on ion motion. Besides an expected variation dumping height, it is found boundaries oscillations induced by descending semidiurnal tide are significantly modified presence wave. The height variations ionisation cause wave modulations metallic content in background plasma density. This could explain long-term strong Es layers. fact strongly influenced tidal phase velocity amplitude, together with variability content, contribute to understanding sporadic nature E-layers.
