摘要: Redox-active forms of iron are known to catalyze free radical mediated peroxidative reactions. There is scanty information on such effects at the sites absorption. This was tested in iron-deficient WKY female rats supplemented for 15 days with FeSO4 equivalent 8 mg (D+) and compared deficient (D) adequate (C) rats. The levels intestinal MDA protein carbonyls activities various antioxidant enzymes were estimated. As markers functional integrity, alkaline phosphatase Lys-Ala-dipeptidyl aminopeptidase evaluated. In addition, we measured concentrations ferritin, transferrin, ceruloplasmin serum mucosa. It observed that correction deficiency resulted significant increase carbonyl formation. Activities both significantly decreased D+ C. catalase decrease Gpx found be sensitive administration. Neither nor its had any effect activity SOD GSH levels. Iron supplementation has mobilization stored as reflected by increased mucosal ferritin level ferroxidase contributing greater stress intestine. These results suggest intestine rat more susceptible iron-mediated damage impairment during iron.
