摘要: Bed pushing during patient transfer is one of the most physically demanding and yet common tasks in hospital setting. Powered bed movers have been increasingly introduced to hospitals reduce physiological strains on users. This study introduces quantifies manpower efficiency health benefits a novel robotic-assisted omni-directional transporter (SESTO Mover) comparison with conventional manual transport stretcher (Stryker Trauma Stretcher 1037) powered (HOSPIMEK HMPT 740), which has fifth wheel providing power assistance only forward direction. A total 14 subjects were recruited (7 porters 7 students) tasked complete course within controlled lab environment. It concluded that robotic mover able halve required push beds as compared without any additional strain, potentially improving by two-fold. Electromyography (EMG) patterns showed users relied shoulder back muscles fashion similar pushing, further confirming intuitive drive mover. Overall, shows reduced physical demands, less for muscle activities, strongly suggest workers hospital.
