摘要: Abstract In this paper, starting from a multivariate spatio-temporal array, containing air pollution data collected for the main pollutants at different monitoring sites over 1-year period, new approach is proposed to get Multipollutant-Multisite Air Quality Index (AQI) time series. A two steps aggregation, related space and pollutants, considered. For first aggregation (spatial synthesis) PCA performed on array opportunely rearranged, while index I2, in Ruggieri Plaia (2011) , used second (pollutant synthesis), obtaining I 2 MS . Daily of four city Palermo (Italy) are analyzed test performance index. The overcomes issues presented by other indices, many which based AQI computed US EPA, considering highest pollutant concentration adequately standardized. comparison carried out shows that here has better than synthesis median-maximum ( Bruno Cocchi, 2002 ) along both dimensions, if conjoint effect quality be taken into account.
