摘要: Glaucoma is a leading cause of irreversible vision loss and associated with fibrotic changes in two ocular tissues-the optic nerve head (ONH) trabecular meshwork (TM). We investigated the differences extracellular matrix components (ECM) including collagen, elastin, transforming growth factor beta-2, type-II receptor (TGFβRII) Galectin3 (Gal3) glaucomatous human eyes to quantify ONH TM. Glaucomatous control donor were prepared for chemical immunological staining ECM protein expression TM ONH. Chemical included: Trichrome (collagen), Vernhoeff-Van Giesen (elastin) Sirius Red (collagen). Immunohistochemistry was used determine levels Gal3 TGFβ2RII. Quantitative analyses performed using Image J software. Student's t-test compare groups Pearson's test correlations P-values 0.05 (or less) considered statistically significant. Deposition proteins elevated tissues. There increased collagen (P = 0.0469), < 0.0001) TGFβ2RII 0.0005) eyes. Likewise, 0.0517) 0.041) correlation TGFβRII 0.0003). The showed supporting pathology. TGFβ-2R II positive co-localization suggesting their potential role glaucoma process. Clin. Anat. 31:1031-1049, 2018. © 2018 Authors.
