摘要: Being part of a “learning community” requires that knowledge workers keep themselves informed developments in their area expertise. However, as we all know, an information saturation problem exists, not least because the Internet. Modes informing are specific to each person’s concerns, topics they want be about. Libraries and centers have sought accommodate this need past by promoting Current Awareness Services (CAS) Selective Dissemination Information (SDI), either through print or electronic means. With migration these systems Internet, intranet, corporate portal, it has become vogue customize personalize access points accordance with user interests. On horizon is promise intelligent software agents additional aid for filtering retrieving information. This article will argue librarians continue embracing model principle CAS, tool relevance, function remaining visible client communities.
