摘要: Examination of small euhedral crystals α‐Al2O3 (sapphire) that were observed following oxidation aluminum and an alloy in wet hydrogen at high temperatures showed growth probably occurs by decomposition AlO on Al2O3 surface. Rapid the tips needles edges platelets lattice steps formed intersection hollow screw dislocations with these surfaces. Screw detected x‐ray measurement twist they produce needle‐like or ``whiskers.'' Needles bent to elastic strains over 2% corresponding a strength 1011 dyne cm−2.
