摘要: OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to optimize an intelligent artificial anal sphincter system (AASS) II for patients with severe fecal incontinence. METHODS Redesigning and integrating a pressure sensor into the prosthesis allows us reduce volume makes it suitable chronic, ambulatory application. Furthermore, close-loop frequency control method designed transcutaneous energy transfer system. Finally, longer working time implanted device obtained by low-power design hardware software. new model in 2 dogs studied periods up 5 weeks. RESULTS output voltage induced on load 30 Ω, variation range k 0.12 ~ 0.42, maintained at approximately 6.8 V 270 320 kHz. minimum maximum voltages were found be 1.7 2.34 V, respectively, which corresponded 90 120 kPa change rate 3.7% caused temperature variations. Moreover, compared AASS I, resulting 94% reduction power consumption. CONCLUSIONS efficacy achieving continence sensing need defecate assessed animal model. technical concept turned out capable fulfilling medical requirements.
