摘要: Why is there a need to develop yet another resource assessment method, especially one based upon fractal geometry? As pointed out by Bois et al. (1979), the estimation of undiscovered hydrocarbon resources suffers from two fundamental difficulties. First, sedimentary basin complex entity, for which are only limited number measurements on small subset physical and geometrical properties system, even after decades exploration production. Second, no universally accepted causal relation between these variables, occurrence size fields. Rather, assessor must choose variety empirical models relating observed variables hydrocarbon. These shortcomings mean that assessments still imprecise uncertain, affording room both improved accuracy constraint uncertainty. Occasionally, lack consonance nature model or its database may cause an estimate be unexpectedly inaccurate. Without comparing several independent estimates, it difficult guard against being led astray difficult-to-detect aberration any method in specific area.
