摘要: Cyclic voltammetric studies of thin films electrosynthesized (ES)-Ni(OH)2 and Co(OH)2 in different alkaline electrolytes suggest that the mechanism oxidation is from reduction. While metal ion (alkali or earth metal) intercalation-deintercalation electrolyte into film provides driving force, reduction reaction takes place heterogeneously independent concentration, whereas homogeneously across a nebulously defined electrode-electrolyte interphase. ES-Ni(OH)2 permits facile intercalationdeintercalation alkali ions Li+, Na+ K+, irrespective their ionic size, while reactions ES-Co(OH)2 are sensitive to requiring larger potentials KOH compared LiOH. In hydroxides, both Ni(OH)2 show greater reversible characteristics order Ba(OH)2 > Sr(OH)2 Ca(OH)2. This may be trivially related solubilities three hydroxides.
