摘要: Santa Monica Bay forms part of the western border greater Los Angeles region. The Ballona Creek watershed is highly urbanized and past studies indicate that largest source for most pollutants to Bay. This study evaluates contribution subwatersheds PCB chlorinated pesticide loading during wet weather flow. Fifteen storm drains from these were sampled three storms 2005-2006 winter rainy season. A series grab samples taken over duration storms. suspended solids analyzed polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) pesticides. geographic information system (GIS) was used calculate runoff volume each subwatershed estimate pollution mass loading. There no statistical difference among subswatersheds; however, a disproportionate came site 5, which had obvious sources. No specific identified as key sources These results may serve model other locations with concerns historic pesticides loadings.
