摘要: This article discusses the causes and symptoms, evaluation, management of unilateral vocal fold paralysis (UVFP). Cross-sectional imaging is appropriate in work-up idiopathic UVFP, but routine use serology not well supported. The usefulness laryngeal electromyography has remained controversial. Predictors poor prognosis for functionally meaningful recovery include fibrillation potentials, positive sharp waves, absent/reduced voluntary motor unit potentials. Voice therapy may be helpful. Injection framework surgery (medialization thyroplasty) improve quality. impact reinnervation comparable with that medialization. Some patients benefit from multiple procedures.
