摘要: A vacuum insulating glass (IG) unit is provided with an array of spacers/pillars between opposing sheets. At least some the are coated on at one surface thereof a dry lubricant and/or reflective material such as silver. This coating permits sheet(s) to move relative another during thermal expansion while minimizing degree which scratch or crack movement. method making exemplary spacer/pillar includes transforming by chemical reaction silver ions core into metallic thereby resulting in spacer/pillar.
