The Efficacy of Art Therapy in Pediatric Oncology Patients: An Integrative Literature Review.

摘要: Abstract Problem Children undergoing cancer treatment experience detrimental adverse side effects that may be addressed with complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) such as art therapy. The purpose of this research was to examine the therapy in pediatric patients living cancer. Eligibility criteria An integrative literature review conducted using CINAHL, OVID Medline, PsycINFO databases. Studies were included if they a primary source utilizing an intervention children age birth 18 years old, published between year 2000 2016, written English language. Sample Seven sources met inclusion criteria. Results Few studies reported review. Findings suggest who participated various forms drawing interventions exhibited enhanced communication family members healthcare providers. Additionally, able better express underlying emotions, developed more effective coping skills, experienced reduction effects. Conclusions Implementing or other into holistic care oncology patient assist maximizing quality life allow for tolerable lifestyle. Implications Acquiring means proper through allows nurses gain insight on needs special population, resulting higher plan care.
