摘要: Summary: Rabbit antisera were prepared against the heptoseless Re mutants, Salmonella minnesota R595 and S. typhimurium SL1102, as well purified glycolipid coated on autologous erythrocytes. The cross-reacted with endotoxic glycolipids extracted from mutants of various bacterial strains, including R595, Escherichia coli D31m4, E. D21f2 F515, shown by passive haemagglutination gel diffusion tests. anti-Re sera also RESI preparations (a ‘lipid A’ fraction) lipopolysaccharides heterologous smooth Gram-negative bacteria Serratia marcescens, Pseudomonas fluorescens 0127. However, same failed to protect mice infection such Klebsiella pneumoniae type II, typhi 0901, P. aeruginosa 119 coli. results suggest that although lipid moieties in cell wall share cross-reactive immunodeterminant groups, these groups may not be accessible antibody them.
