摘要: Diversion of waste streams such as plastics, woods, papers and other solid trash from municipal landfills extraction useful materials is an area increasing interest especially in densely populated areas. One promising technology for recycling (MSW) to burn the high-energy-content components standard coal power plant. This research aims reform wastes into briquettes that are compatible with typical combustion processes. In order comply standards coal-fired plants, feedstock must be mechanically robust, free hazardous contaminants, moisture resistant, while retaining high fuel value. study investigate effects processing conditions added recyclable plastics on properties MSW fuels. A well-sorted stream paper fiber content was combined controlled levels PE, PP, PET PS formed using a compression molding technique. The effect binding attraction energy efficiency were investigated. stability exposure, composition by proximate analysis, briquette mechanical strength, burning evaluated. It found temperature ensures better product addition milled mixed plastic leads encapsulation well greater calorific Also some removal (but not complete) improves compacting process results higher heating Analysis post-processing water uptake compressive strength showed correlation between density both stress humid environment. Proximate analysis indicated values comparable coal. improved when air contents optimized. Moreover, sample similar biomass fuels but had significant advantages due have compared types. Addition PP HDPE presented benefits than lower softening oxygen content. should noted harmful emissions dioxins, furans mercury can result WTE facilities been able control these meet US EPA standards. provides drop-in replacement reduces demand landfill space replaces fraction fossil-derived renewable alternative.
