摘要: Careful determination of pulse wave velocity is important in the study arterial viscoelastic properties, reflections, and ventricular-arterial interactions. In spite its increasingly widespread use, there as yet no standardized method for determination. Most studies have manually identified transit time pressure front it travels over a known distance system, but issues accuracy reproducibility not been addressed. This was designed to investigate efficacy four computerized algorithms velocities invasive well noninvasive determinations. The methods were identification of: (1) point minimum diastolic pressure, (2) at which first derivative maximum, (3) second (4) yielded by intersection line tangent initial systolic upstroke tracing horizontal through point. High-fidelity aortic recordings obtained 26 patients with multi-sensor micromanometer catheter. Noninvasive brachial radial waveforms recorded 11 volunteers external piezoelectric transducers. results show that consistently provided different from other both because changes structure propagates distally. Although worked determinations, erratic probably higher amount noise reflection latter. Among algorithms, intersecting tangents determinations mean variation coefficients less than 7% correlation between greater 0.90 all data. conclusion, allow accurate invasively noninvasively measured waveforms.
