摘要: 1. In the absence of added ADP glutamine is transformed by pig kidney mitochondria to ammonium glutamate, which appears in external medium. This reaction stimulated only slightly addition ADP, but under these conditions about 20% glutamate oxidized aspartate. 2. Externally aspartate, and at same rate as glutamine. 3. The net rates influx into intramitochondrial compartment are very slow. 4. phosphate-dependent glutaminase activity intact provision energy. 5. energy also decreases concentration increases compartment. These energy-linked changes concentrations equal magnitude. 6. It suggested that transport across inner membrane occurs an obligatory exchange between two metabolites, electrogenic. existence electrogenic glutamine-glutamate anti-porter proposed.
