摘要: Integral membrane proteins are generally targeted to translocation-competent membranes by virtue of signal sequences located close the N-terminus polypeptide chain. Membrane anchoring is caused sequence or other hydrophobic segments after it in amino acid sequence. However, some integral do not follow these rules. The members one class nonconformist have no sequence, but instead possess a segment near C-terminus that orients them with their N-termini cytoplasm. Members this found many organelles and probably inserted into an unusual mechanism.
