摘要: Aminoglycoside pharmacokinetics were determined in 30 normal weight patients and morbidly obese (greater than 90% overweight). All had renal function a gram-negative infection (documented by cultures, fever elevated white blood cell counts) which was treated only with aminoglycoside antibiotics. The matched respect to the following criterion: age, sex, ideal body (IBW), serum creatinine, site of infection, type antibiotic (gentamicin, tobramycin, or amikacin). results similar for all 3 drugs. Average half-life 2 h both patients. mean volumes distribution clearances significantly larger (23.3 l 135.8 ml/min gentamicin, 29.9 162.4 26.8 157.3 amikacin) (17.0 95.9 18.3 101.3 18.6 99.2 As result altered pharmacokinetics, required doses (540 mg/d 690 tobramycin 1970 when compared (380 mg/d, 420 1420 respectively; p less 0.005) order achieve comparable concentrations.
