摘要: Background Changes in communicative functions are common Parkinson's disease (PD), but there only limited data provided by individuals with PD on how these changes perceived, what their consequences are, and type of intervention is provided. Aim To present self-reported information about speech communication, the impact participation, amount speech-language pathology services received people PD. Methods Respondents recruited via Swedish Disease Society filled out a questionnaire accessed Web link or paper version. Results Of 188 respondents, 92.5% reported at least one symptom related to communication; most symptoms were weak voice, word-finding difficulties, imprecise articulation, getting off topic conversation. The communication problems resulted restricted participation for between quarter third caused embarrassment sometimes more often than half. Forty-five percent respondents had services. Conclusions Most both language symptoms, many experienced participation. Access still inadequate. Services should also address cognitive/linguistic aspects meet needs
