摘要: Antibiotics are one of the most commonly prescribed classes medication for children and adolescents. While they arguably powerful tool we possess against bacterial infections, frequently given to whose illnesses due viruses or other non-infectious etiologies. When antibiotics not used judiciously, consequences can be serious accumulate over time. This review article quantifies burden antimicrobial use in pediatric outpatient setting United States, reviews recommended first line antibiotic regimens common adolescent conditions, investigates reasons inappropriate prescribing healthcare settings, explores range overuse antibiotics, from adverse drug reactions impact on microbiome rising rates resistance ambulatory conditions.
