摘要: BACKGROUND School-based comprehensive sex education programs can reduce early adolescents' risky sexual behavior. The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness a 3-year program in delaying vaginal for middle school students and whether family component intervention contributes its effectiveness. METHODS This longitudinal evaluation followed cohort 6th graders (N = 2453) through end 8th grade. design used random assignment 24 schools into treatment comparison conditions. analysis included multiple-group logistic regression differences delay between groups. RESULTS In where taught, 16% fewer boys 15% girls had by grade compared at schools. Completing activities during first year predicted delayed debut boys. CONCLUSIONS Theory-based, developmentally appropriate, that include parent involvement be effective students. Parent is particularly important boys, as may encourage parents talk with their sons earlier more frequently.
