摘要: Despite their unseemly bulk, elephants can hit high speeds — but use an unusual style. It is generally thought that do not run1,2,3,4,5, there confusion about how fast they move across open terrain and what gait at top speed. Here we video analysis to show Asian (Elephas maximus L.) surprisingly of up 6.8 m s−1 (25 km h−1) that, although might seem be a walk even this speed, some features locomotion conform definitions running.
