摘要: Heart rate responses evoked by a 3-sec auditory stimulus were averaged within stages of sleep for five subjects. Although there some individual differences, the HR response is generally diphasic, with peak acceleratory component occurring on fourth post-stimulus beat and trough deceleratory 10th beat. Unlike other variables, which are depressed during rapid eye movement (REM) stage, tends to be larger REM stage than sleep. The size not appreciably affected time night, since non-habituating sleep, but respiratory cycle phase, being largest when occurs inspiration or period immediately prior inspiration, smallest expiratory phase.
