摘要: This study provides data on the genetic structuring of pipefish Syngnathus abaster in western Mediterranean and Adriatic Seas. A total 109 specimens were collected brackish-water biotopes. The control region three other regions mitochondrial genome analysed. most relevant result was high found by Bayesian inference (BI), maximum likelihood (ML) network analyses, which consistent showing well-separated clusters S. populations. Furthermore, BI ML did not support monophyly taxon abaster. These results suggest occurrence a species complex area, whose differentiation may have occurred since Pleistocene. also show very variability at inter-population level, with no shared haplotypes among sites. Evolutionary forces due to fragmented nature habitats account for divergence groups Finally, although dispersal rafting over long distances occasionally occur, this suggests linear stepping-stone model colonization be likely. complexity obtained that further studies are needed elucidate phylogeny
