Binding Energy of the Core Exciton in the Cl- L2,3 Absorption of Alkali Chlorides

摘要: With a two-crystal vacuum spectrometer, the Cl - K α emission spectra in fluorescence are measured for series of alkali chlorides MCl (M=Li, Na, K, Rb and Cs). By using spectra, previously reported β ultraviolet photoelectron optical-gap data, energy position bottom conduction band is shown high-resolution L 2,3 absorption obtained by Iguchi et al . The first sharp peak identified as being due to core exciton, level which formed below bottom. binding energies excitons estimated be 0.9 (±0.1), 1.2 1.3 1.1 (±0.1) 0.7 eV LiCl, NaCl, KCl, RbCl CsCl, respectively.
