摘要: We counted the numbers of seals hauled out at low tide on two near-shore ledges in a protected cove Casco Bay, Gulf Maine minimum 12 times per month, for four years starting August 1997. The highest mean monthly counts were (molting season) and lowest either January or February. Counts during pupping season (May June) lower than April July. As no mother-pup pairs observed, these are molting but not ledges. Time-series analysis revealed overall trend number present, did show decreasing fraction days each month that present. Further observations needed to determine if this is continuing it present other locations coast.
